my creative space

I have a project coming up in a couple months where I shall be guiding others in their knitting. Pause for incredulous laughter.
So gamely picked up the sticks after 5 years (from where they had been hurled most likely in a fit of frustration) to find it is not as difficult as I remembered...is 2 months enough time to get me skilled up?
Why, oh why could it not be crochet workshops!!!

Onto happier things-my latest whimsical art piece.
A gumball machine($2 from oppy) filled with hundreds of vintage buttons(probably $5 from various sources.) The joy it gives me to see those buttons swirl in glass top...priceless!

Happy crafting and living, xkate

I adore what you have done with that gumball machine Kate! I will have to visit your op shop when I am next in Oz! The knitting you have done so far looks great so I'm sure you will have no problems with your knitting guidance thingy!

Love the gumball button machine. I've just remember some old push button tea canisters I have somewhere that I could use in a similar way. Oh and 2 months is heaps of time to get ready :). I just spent the weekend on the knitting/crochet craft bar at stitches and had a ball teaching people stuff. I've only been crocheting for less than a year yet I did way more crochet stuff than knitting. So you'll be fine. Have fun.

Good luck with your preparations for guiding the knitting. I ran some sewing sessions at a craft show last week (even I was laughing at myself) but it all went smoothly because I managed to keep one step ahead of everyone (and that's all that counts!)

The gum ball machine is fantastic. I'd much rather put 10c in a machine and get buttons than gum!

2 months is heaps of time!! Especially if you do a few small things like dishcloths to practice the specific skills you need to teach! Have fun practicing :-)

LOL I am doing a crochet workshop and I only took that up last year, I was thinking why can't it be a knitting one? I love the gumball machine full of lovely buttons. PS I just checked out your profile and we have many things in common....I am also a libran and trying to be a Buddhist mum as well :-)
