Great giveaway!!! My place? Is a little hot (I'm in Saudi Arabia) and clean and tidy in preparation for Ramadan (our month of fasting). And one of my fave books is: The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. I like the Jodi Picoult books too.

Ooh ~ BOTH those brooches I love! Yay!
Something about my place ... hmmm ... I just washed the dishes today for the first time in a week and they are now piled on the sink almost as high as they are wide! (sounds similar to your weeds!)
My favourite book ... Hmmm ... I'm going to sound like a real granny here, but it's probably 'Out on a limb' by Shirley Maclaine! Read it oodles of times!.

Wonderful!!

My favourite book is usually whatever I'm reading at the time or whatever is most closely connected to where I'm at! So...right now it's probably "Only in New York" by Caroline Overington, about her time spent living in the Big Apple with kids in tow!

And my place...it's funny, because we're living just outside of Brissie, in an area I never imagined myself in. But it's so good for our family life and I've realised that you can always funkify your home to make it yours, even if the canvas isn't exactly what you would've envisaged (i.e. we're actually living in quite a modern place, while I've always imagined myself in an old character house!)

:)

Ooo nice giveaway! I haven't read a book for years, but I did enjoy The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon and Firehead by Venero Armanno. And my place is quiet with the baby still asleep, washing everywhere and vintage sheets hanging out to dry! Love your funky orange fungi - great colour!

My favorite book, The Giver by Lois Lowry. It's all based in the future, almost in a place where feelings are outlawed. I read in intermediate and it had me hooked since then.

My place is my sometimes cold and shared apartment in Newtown, Wellington, New Zealand. Today it looks like I'm home alone and again have the day to myself. Since it's still the morning here I think I'll start my day with a bowl of cornflakes then get busy cleaning, sewing, writing letters and spending the 5 bucks I have in my wallet on something delicious for lunch!

Weeds, my garden only seems to be weeds.
Books, what are they? Not had time to read a book for years - for me (as I am usually sewing instead)
My favourite kids book is one called "ducks don't wear socks". I borrow it from the library all the time - for me :)

OOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH MY GOOOOOOODDDDDDDDDDD I soooo want to win dash robin goodness!!!!!!!
My place? We had a rat problem, rats munching on our compost... they came from the neighbours chicken coop. Raymond has killed 3 that we have found... could be more. We know they are rats because we don't have bats here in wellington... and I'm kinda glad... rats seem less scary to me!
Hmmm... I see others are talking about books... right now I have no time for books except for ones with titles such as "DSM-IV"... "Abnormal Psychology"..."the Anxiety and Phobia workbook"..." the bulimia workbook"... "Psychopathology"... you getting me? ha ha ha

How lovely! You know, I have the fungus in my garden too. I think it adds a certain 'je ne sais quoi', so I'm keeping it for now. A fave book I always go back to is The Woman's Book of Creativity by C Diane Ealy.

What a lovely prize! It is so hard to choose one favourite book - they are like children, you love them all for different reasons. 'To Kill A Mockingbird' by Harper Lee is pretty high on my favourites list though. In fact my youngest daughter is named Nell after (Nelle)Harper Lee.

wow what a lovely giveaway! My favourite book would have to be A fortunate Life - by AB Facey. Something about my place.....we just had a little party this morning for my daughter - it was lovely having lots of children playing and giggling!

Great package of stuff!! Thanks for having a giveaway!

Hmmm, something about my place...I threw an old packet of birdseed out onto the front lawn a few months ago and now we have to harvest whatever's growing. It looks nice though.

Favourite book...that's an easy one, Pride and Prejudice.

Thanks for stopping my space :)

My favourite book is from my sons bok collection 'The Very Best of Friends' by Margaret Wild. It brings a tear to my eye every time I read it.

At my place right now I have cold, bone-chilling winds, a snoring master 4 and a little sick poppet who is 4 weeks old today.

I love love that picture of the orange fungus... I want some orange fungus!!

Am following your blog now :)

I LOOOOOVE your vintage button bag. Actually, I have a little penchant for vintage things (check my blog and have a look at the great vintage kids book I found).

There are sooo many books that I love, I have no idea where to start! I have read "Island Breeze" by Lynn Bulock too many times to count though! It makes me feel a bit better about the devastation that was wrecked on my back yard last week (read 'men with chainsaws "pruning"'). :(
Can't wait for spring!

oh that clutch is gorgeous, love the crochet. hmmm.. my place had lots of weeds too & i'm debating whether I should have left them for the scary locust plague just incase they would take them instead of my plants! i really can't commit to one book, i love so many, birth of venus by sarah dunant is awesome. thanks for the sewing advice btw i will try this weekend.

Hiya Kate,

It was great to meet you today at the Mumatopia launch, and share a stall. I love your blog and you photos are gorgeous:)

I should have some very sophistocated book to share but actually I love the escapisim books. So my favorite is "The Magician" by Raymond E Feist. I have read his series about 5 or more times and I just love it.

Wow I would love to win your giveaway, it all looks divine!

Our facourite book is Alison Lester's 'Are we There Yet?' and at my place I have no veggie garden in this year as my new flock of Guinea Fowl are roosting in there and eating all the green stuff!

As for your giveaway - yippee! My favourite book...I have many. But the one I'm reading to my kids right now is an old classic and has a wonderful message about embracing change, overcoming setbacks and forging new ground - Oh, The Places You'll Go! By Dr.Seuss. If you haven't read it, add it to your collection.

you are wonderful!
favourite book..oh gosh, feels like it's been a million & one years since I have read anything. favourite kids book "diary of a wombat" ;)

My favourite book....hmmmm, I have so many. A recent fave would be "Dead Europe". Tsiolkas is a genius. I loved it because I'd read the Slap, which plants itself squarely in the realm of realism, so I was excited to find Dead Europe took a little trip into the world of the supernatural, reminding me of the magical realism genre - my fave of genres!!
My place contains the loves of my life - my husband, my beautiful little girl, my dog, and my cat. Those are the most important things about my place. It evolves constantly to reflect its inhabitants, and always looks very well lived in!!
Love you Kate - what a beautiful idea to come up with. I love your bits and pieces, you have clever hands and a clever heart!! xoxox

I love To Kill A Mockingbird. I read it as a youngster and it has not changed when I read it as a grown up. Some books do change as you grow up and away from them but not this one.

My place, I am making pet pendants, or trying to - I keep following blog giveaways!!
