works in progress...

I'm playing along with the lovely kootoyoo my creative space and I wanted to have a picture of a complete crochet string bag to put on here. But as so often happens I got nearly to the finish and started something new...and now I feel really uninspired to get back to this bag-even though there is only a few rows and sewing up to go.

I want to start new things rather than finish this one-with the result of quite a lot of nearly finished stuff gathering dust! Sigh. Does anyone else struggle with this? What do you do to re ignite your interest in a unfinished project? Would love to hear your thoughts...

Thanks for your comment, Kate! Oh, the unfinished stuff. Sometimes things sit for a Very Long Time--this is usually sewing projects, cut but not sewn up, because I can't do that whenever, I have to make time & space for the machine. (3yo at home--makes machine sewing challenging!) The knitted stuff, I generally only let myself have a couple things going, and I have to finish before starting something new. I'm just stern with myself, is all, even when I get antsy for something new!

I'm kind of the opposite when it comes to crochet. I just have to finish it. Different story when it comes to sewing though.

I am always having this problem!
I think I just let them pile up until I can handle it no more and have to start finishing things one by one. I think of the reward of a finished piece!

Hi,
Thanks for shopping by thru the Creative spaces site. I appreciate your comment on my little puff frenzy. It has been so much fun making them. Your crochet bag is coming along nicely and I hope you get to count it as a completed project soon. I do the same thing, have all these UFO's stashed away that need just a wee bit more to complete, i.e. lining, trim, an unusual bind off, etc. But somehow, I manage to gain interested in them again finish them, and then wonder, what took me so long?

Hola.
Susana.

I have one unfinished crochet bag (ran out of yarn on what was a stash-busting exercise - buying more seems to be counterproductive but I do want to finish it!) and a sweater in progress. Normally I don't start one project till I've finished the next .. but I often have one sewing project and one crochet project on the go at the same time.

Hi Kate! It's been ages since I stopped by your little piece of cyber space... 'bout time huh? Love the multi-coloured yarn you are using, even if the ripple does dissappear.
I too sometimes (ok, a lot) have a short attention span when I am making things and I often have multiple things on the go. Some get shelved for months till the inspiration to finish strikes again. :)
