my creative space

I have been delighting in waking up the past few days, its been all about slow starts, I love the easy mornings of the school holidays. Found time for some more crochet...

I like making simple scarves, but I am enjoying blending different yarn types to get texture and add interest.

I played about making this birdy too...

I added the beret just for fun! Next to my old suitcase he looks like he's on his way home-Paris?

I also did some kitchen creating-making a lurid and kind of grotesquely decorated sponge bob birthday cake...

for my still utterly adorable now 13 year old!! (who by the way loves kind of lurid and grotesque things and LOVES sponge bob)

And finally I have found some time to set up these...3 scarves I made a while back but just listed on made it today...can you tell I love my old suitcase?!

and if you have read this far...you might like to enter my fun friendly little competition...

just leave a comment with a name for the scarf pictured above...it can be the colour-anything, think creatively- and the best comment/name will receive a scarf in your choice of colour! I will select the winner and let you know by next Thursday...
happy crafting, get on over here for more creative spaces...http://www.kootoyoo.com/

I wish I was inventive enough to come up with something - I am really bad at that.

I am sure ....
rusty soft scallopy loveliness
is no good!

Love your scarfs though...

There is a little voice in my head and it is whispering, "learn to crochet, learn to crochet" I have been ignoring it for too long..it is getting louder.(should I worry?) I see your lovely scarves and other bloggers crochet creativity and am inspired to make my own. xxNick

Oooh that scarf is gorgeous and I love the robin. Definately a "Rouge-gorge" (French word for Robin, means red-breast, isn't that gorgeous?).I so wish I could crochet. I should just find the time to learn really!
Thanks for visiting my blog.

What about Autumn Spice? Your scarves are all so lovely. There was so much to look at in your post. I think I'll have to come back to take it all in!

Love the colour of that first scarf in your post!

I'm thinking a name for the other scarf could be Sienna Rust. The first thing that sprung to mind was Burnt Sienna but that sounds a little bit house fire/small child -ish. Not so good!

ooh ooh "rustic lust"... I LOVE your scarves.. they are stunning!

So loving the colours of your scarves! So pretty. The last one, on my monitor, looks to me like Red Earth. Such a lovely shade.
and that suitcase is definite winner. I have quite a collection of them, but none in that gorgeous colour. Lucky you.

Thanks again for the visit. :)

I must be the only person in blogland that doesn't know how to crochet?! Ok, I know I'm NOT after reading some of the comments, but it really is something I must learn to do. Name...umm? The cream one is something my mum would have worn, so maybe...Gentle Touch. x

I love your suitcase too!!!

That looks one well travelled birdie judging from his lovely authentic suitcase. Tangerine Dreams? Toasty Warm? Purely inspired by Amanda up there!

I think it should be called, "A little sass" because that's what red makes me think of. It's a bold and sassy colour.

I have no idea why but when I look at the scarves with the gorgeous scollop design I think of the name Lara.... so The Lara Scarf. I cannot explain how my mind is working - I just think all the colours look like Laras. Weird - but there you go.

Cute birdie too :)
